Thanks.. is the SG-III the same as GNex?  I'm still getting caught up here been with the HTC EVO for almost 2 years now.
Samsung to me has 3 different kinds of phones that are not comparable to each other. There are the low end devices that give Samsung a bad name because they suck. There are the Nexus line of phones which are mediocre and dont really care for. And then there are the Galaxy I, II, and III line of phones which are just out of this world and worthy of being called a high end device.

Because of this and other recent tech/android news I'm seriously (I mean SERIOUSLY) considering getting an unlocked phone like they do in Europe and going prepaid. Especially since LTE is so iffy right now on Sprint and I refuse to let Verizon nickel and dime me into the poor house. Thanks to Deck's ICS I've learned to live with 3G and wi-fi for big file downloads (is pb26 out yet??? :P ) So why not just get 2 $46 plans (taxes and fees included) instead of paying $200 for 3 lines (one is coming off soon). An extra $100 per month will pay me back for hte unlocked phones in a year. And I can always buy a new one and sell whatever I have at will. No contract.

But I'll always be a part of the VP Family. Without Jim, Rope, Car, Smelkus, JJ ... man all you dudes.... I'd probably think that Sense 4 was the best thing since the StarTac!!!

Carhauler and I were just talking about this last night. I used to do this before coming over to Sprint from AT&T. There is a place in Chicago by me called Popular Electronics who gets all the European unlocked devices when they are released. Great idea and actually contiplated going to AT&T again for a bit til i realized i have a couple friends with me on my Sprint account and would be screwing them if i left. If you dont mind paying $600-$800 per deivce then by all means have fun. I may still switch at a later point in time but can't right now.

Possible devices to look out for will be the Samsung Galaxy Note or "Journal" for Sprint , and the Galaxy S III. The rooting process for Samsung is and will always be a one click Odin install and your off on your way. You screw up your phone, well you just Odin back to stock and done. YOU Brick your phone...you just attach a jig and viola! Unbricked. I agree with Carhauler....with the locked down bootloaders and now sealed batteries like iCrap that HTC has done...im very dissapointed. Now don't get me wrong, i'm sure HTC will still be making great devices but not for flashaholics like we are. And by the looks of it anyways with the ban of HTC from Crapple....we might all be forced to use Samsung until they change the precious code that supposivly Crapple came up with.
