Rooted my wife's 3d Evo no problem. My 3D claims 'unlock token check successful', but the screen on my phone doesn't ask if I want to unlock bootloader. I have the plum. Anyone know of any known issues? What could I have done wrong?

3d is fine, just suffers a lack of development in certain places

After searching the web, I've found alot of ppl with the same problem. Why would HTC show you how to root the phone only to block it later?

Yeah I'm pissed, my wife's phone rooted fine, but mine with the same specs won't. hboot 1.50, 2.08.651.2

ETA: After some more investigating it appears that I may have a European model of the phone, which may not be on the list at HTCDev yet. Just goes to show you never can tell where a phone is coming from once on Ebay.

Whether or no it's a Sprint phone has nothing to do with it, if it's actually a European phone then it is a GSM phone & you can probably use the HBOOT downgrade tool that mildlydisturbed linked for you.

This sounds like it would be worth a shot, keeping in mind that once rooted a GSM E3D will probably require different ROMs & kernels, etc.
Sent from my rooted Asus Transformer using Tapatalk
The SGS II Epic 4G Touch is on TeamNocturnal Blend ICS "The Goodness" v7.1 FD02 Rogue Repack Kernel FD26 Modem
and
NO Tweaks not already included in the ROM Yes it's that good.
It is underclocked via Calkulin's Battery Saver Script based on screen state & battery percentage max clock speed is 1.2GHz @ 100-85% and scales down to 800MHz @ 35% & below, & Undervolted by -75mV via Calkulin's scripts

The O.G. is currently on Dark Light v3.5 w/ Mason v.14-ics-hwa-sbc-fso+
@ 128/1152MHz on Intellidemand & the SIO scheduler & 4096kb SD cache
Under volted -75mV total w/ SystemTuner Pro

yeah, if it's EU/GSM you'd be looking at some different ROMs... they have about half of the CDMA ROMs, but they have all the big ones
