I've seen on xda that microcenter has it for $450 so best buy matched it for me. I also bought the dock for $150 so altogether 600 bucks. BTW microcenter has all tablets 50 dollars cheaper, its a promotion they are running.

Thanks for the info. I might have to splurge. It's either a riding mower or a TP and other stuff (electronics?). Seeing as the mower will only get used once a week 7 months out of the year and the TP will be used every day 12 months a year.... hmmmm.... you guys know which way I am leaning. Besides, I could use the exercise pushing the damn yard...LOL

Which apps really require root for a tablet? I am not sure if rooting the tablet is as important as a phone (free tethering). I likely will hold off until I have gotten a taste of ICS and get bored with it. If anybody here HAS rooted the TFP, please share your method and any other tips/tricks. Also, any problems updating from Honeycomb to ICS? Anybody having the wifi/GPS issues I see so much about online?

Congrats on your purchase!!! To answer your first question, IMO until the bootloader gets unlocked, which should be soon, rooting is not that big of a deal yet. You cant make backups or install new roms which is what rooting is all about aside from the apps. If you are going to root vipermod has an incredibly super easy root tool which i believe i posted in this thread. Also get OTA root keeper so you wont loose root when updating.
As far as wifi I have better performance on my prime then I do on my OG evo, which makes me a happy camper. GPS I have not actually used it yet lol. Only problem i had was when i first got the tablet i was having issues with rebooting maybe two times a day but the latest update fixed it.
Enjoy the prime, its the best tablet on the market without a question...for now lol.

It wasn't too bad. Maybe an hour or so. I'm using adw launcher, minimalistic text for the tiles, make sure to enable overlapping Widgets if you didn't know that already

Mine finally came. Its badass. Haven't really ran it through all the loops but the wifi is no worse than my Evo and the GPS seems fine. Not sure what all the online hubbub was about.
Haven't rooted yet. I am not an expert like most of you guys (but I know a little something something from all of your help in this forum over the past year). I need a no brainier idiot proof guide and then I may root it. Plus with the bootloader just getting unlocked there agent any roms that ate superior to stock (yet).
