im going to screw around with doing that as well.. but i hope the kernel makes it a bit more stable.

FYI...
I use TuneIn radio, Netflix, and Google Music while plugged in all day at work. I never get reboots because of it. I had been using tiamat 4.0.7 most recently, but came back to tiamat 3.3.7 today, because of lag and heat issues I was having.

+1 on the lag & heat issues on 4.0.7, can't beat that "Lee" kernel.
Just fyi, he's on 3.2 RC2, not the AOSP ROM.

If that one does well for you, try the HAVS-MORE version, most of us had the best battery life with it, & it's extremely stable.

So it got to the point where it was jsut endlessly rebooting.. even after letting it sit a bit without the battery it continued to do that.. i had to boot in to recovery and wipe everything and put the image back down... i've had the SD card go bad before and im starting to think that maybe this one is bad as well... i need to find my card reader so i can toss it in the computer.. this thing is driving me nuts

What I'm about to say assumes that you are using the Dark Tremors a2sd function to run all of your user installed apps from the ext3 partition which Jim baked into the ROM, & not using the native Android apps2sd that's built into FroYo.
I've seen this type of behavior with the 32GB class 10 SD card that I just retired from my phone. Basically what happens is the file system on the card gets corrupted, causing the card to mount as read-only, then when the phone reboots it fails to mount, or mounts too slowly causing a2sd to throw a ".noa2sd" flag file, which on VaelPak 3.2-RC2 will cause endless bootloops, similar to what you're describing.
Running CHKDISK in Windows on the card will usually at least temporarily fix it, for a while. Running MyDefrag in Flash Memory mode after running CHKDISK will help it run error free for a longer period of time. For me, ultimately that error free period of time got shorter, & shorter until I ended up replacing my 32GB class 10 card with a 16GB class 4 card, & I've had no problems since then.

You sure you want an 8gb? Might want to double check that and get 16gb (IMO).

I'm so glad I went to a 16gb. More than a third is music for when I don't have a good signal on my route (2 days in the hills and I dumped SiriusXM after 5 years) 4 current nands and about 500 photos and I still have about 3gb left. Plenty of room to breathe.

Recently downgrading from a 32GB class 10 to a 16GB class 4, I can honestly say the 32GB was overkill, the 16GB is just right so far, & much more stable.

I used newegg a lot until i went to buy a video card, wanted to do a price compare with amazon, and amazon informed me that the card i selected was an older model and there was a newer one which was pretty nice.. i like newegg for the price/review.. now amazon is on par with price and the reviews are getting up there..

at any rate not sure i'll go with 16, i dont really store much data, the only real data i store is maps for locus which eats up the majority of my space... and there is no way im getting another sandisk.. this is the second one this phone has had..
